Holiday starts

I've waited for so long and holiday finally comes. Should feel excited and happy but I felt nothing, today is just like another normal college day. One month holiday? It doesn't seem like holiday to me. Book review, 20 law questions, tonnes of revision notes...... endless work and assignments!

By the way, we are going to Broga tomorrow! Just finished packing my stuff, XP... Going back to Penang on Monday, with one small luggage which is full of books and revision notes, one backpack full of notes and also my lovely laptop and another bag, which is full of my clothes, accessories, chargers, books and again, REVISION NOTES!!! I've no idea how am I going to carry so many things to One-U and bring them back to Penang...

Life

Last week, I had a high fever and was almost sick for the whole week. Our Charity Club had an event to raise some funds to help the orphans. So, what had we done? We had a charity car wash (I washed 2 cars... XP) and also tried to get KDU students to perform at KDU Square, but it was really not easy to ask for money, even one buck, from people around. On Wednesday, we went to the orphanage - Sunbeam's Home 日辉之家. There were 80 of us and the place is really small, so they decided to go to a field nearby. However, that's not such a good idea to play with the children under the hot sun. The food provided was not very suitable for children, it was nasi lemak and most of them can't take spicy food. Most of the children couldn't finish their food, so the food was wasted. Our aim or objective was to help the children, bring them some fun, not forgetting at the same time we must educate them. The children were treated like Kings and Queens, which I thought was the wrong way. Actually I had a bad headache on that day, but since it was just a visit to an orphanage, I decided to go. When we were at the field in the middle of the day, the hot weather made my headache worsened, I felt as if i was going to faint.



As we were occupied for the whole day on Wednesday, my history presentation was postponed to next week. (oh, how lucky am I!!!) Anyway, law quiz was still on Thursday. I did study the notes and my law textbook, but not thorough, that's why I was not confident for the test. I was lucky enough as those questions which the answers were unknown to me were not directed to me. I scored 2.5 marks, the highest in the class was 3.0, so still ok for me. Ms Sathya said that was just the first round of law quiz and we will do the second round on next Monday. If we don't do well in second round, we will sit for law test on Tuesday, that's what she told us. Even if we do well, we will still have to do assignment.

Next week is the last week for this term and after that we will have our long holiday for the month of December. Next Saturday and Sunday, we are going on a Broga trip. We will have activities like flying fox, rock climbing, mountain biking, wake up at 5 o'clock early in the morning to catch the sunrise and barbeque at night, hope that would be fun!!!

KDU Sports Carnival 2009 - Reaching for Greatness

Yesterday was KDU Sports Carnival 2009 and it was held in KDU Auditorium, original venue should be Sri KDU field but due to some reasons, the field was not available for our sports carnival. Actually it was an advantage to our marchpast and cheerleading team, since we had been practising in the auditorium all the while.

I woke up 4.30am and took a bath, then received a call from Ivor. Woke everyone up then went up to Eva's unit for the face-painting, merely some leopard dots. We reached college at seven something in the morning, everyone was so excited about the event, even Ms Sathya painted her face!!! The Blue team, which was the School of Hospitality and Tourism, was the first to perform and Yellow team, which was the Management and Pre-U Centre, went after Blue. Our preformance was so great and it impressed everyone in the auditorium!!!

Our Yellow team won the FIRST PLACE for marchpast and cheerleading!!! Everyone was happy and from what we heard from Ms Ong, we are going to have a celebration party soon!!! It has been very long since the last time I participated in such events. Although it was very tiring, I did not regret spending so much time for marchpast practices everyday.

So, Sports Carnival is over, holiday will start in 3 weeks time, GO BROGA!!!

Friday

This morning, Economic class was cancelled for a briefing and introduction of two new clubs. The Charity Club is founded by Dipti while the Public Speaking Club is founded by Sasha. Participation in the Charity Club is compulsory for all Pre-U students whereas it is optional for the Public Speaking Club. It is indeed very true that active participation in these clubs will definitely make my CV looks better and probably I might stand a higher chance during universities' interviews. However, due to the fact that I don't have that much time to spend on these activities, I didn't join the Public Speaking Club. Yea, those people are great, they found a club and organise activities, they are "shining". I know myself and I'm satisfied with what I have now, I will keep doing what I want to do. Everyone do have a very different definition for happiness in life, and I will always stick to mine.

By the way, Pre-U centre has organised an adventure trip to Outbac Broga on 5th and 6th of December, I'm joining. Hope it will be a fun and unforgettable experience. ^-^

硕果

上个星期，风影忙得不知今夕是何年，累得快连自己都忘了。除了准备今天的seminar presentation, 星期四还有个法律测验，竟然要考两课，一小时之内作答两题，总之上个星期风影都是活在紧张、压力中，好不辛苦！今天轮到我们组的seminar presentation, Dipti, Alyssa还有风影都很紧张，总是担心怯场。我们三人不知有多少天都在通宵达旦地忙着准备presentation的slides，还得准备各自的讲稿，每人需present至少十分钟（十分钟其实长得让你惊讶），真是“台上一分钟，台下十年功”啊！像老牛一样辛苦耕耘，今天便是收成之时，好在“一分耕耘，一分收获”，成绩让我们雀跃万分！还记得刚刚Ms Hema 这么说：So far, this is the only group which has ( we thought she is going to continue her sentence with "exceeded 30 minutes for their slides presentation", but...) hit the 'A' grade. 这给予我们肯定的话语让我们感觉一切辛苦付出都是值得的，准备与努力并没有付诸流水！

今天也派发了上个星期的法律测验卷纸，考得相当不理想，但至少风影终于知道自己的问题和弱点何在，这样方能对症下药，下回也就是这个星期四的法律测验风影一定可以好好发挥的！自上个星期开始，每个星期四都会有法律测验，直至考试结束。虽然会很累，但多一些测验是好的，这样才能保证考试时万无一失。

The Dream

Last night, I dreamt of my grandpa who had passed away for 6 years, or perhaps I should say I think I dreamt of him. It was so clear in my dream that he was talking to me in front of our old house, asking me to keep the clothes as it was going to rain. I remembered he asked me to put an apple on a plate and I asked him how was his life after his death, he said everything was fine. He wanted me to take care of myself as he was going to leave. After that, I saw him waving to me and said good bye, I kneed down and cried. After that, when I turned to my back, I saw a group of old people, it seemed that they were my ancestors, coming to take my grandpa away. This is the first time I dreamt of my grandpa since his death. Everything was so real in the dream and I wish it is not merely a dream. I woke up immediately after the dream and tried to recall everything. Grandpa, you will live forever in my heart.

累

最近的生活让风影感到很累，很疲乏，日子一天一天地消逝，似乎没有留下任何痕迹。生活的紧凑，每天千篇一律地重复着同样的事，让风影感觉自己已越来越像一部机器。

风影的人生目标并非要功成名就，也毋须家财万贯，而仅仅是生活中的快乐罢了。风影很明白，再潇洒也不能没钱过活，但再多的钱有些时候也不能代表什么。风影只要有足够的钱，能吃想吃的、买想买的，满足自己物质上的欲望便好了。功成名就的代价有多大？表面风光，背后的辛酸又有谁知？人生不是很长，短短几十年，何不活得有滋有味？

风影想开一间休闲咖啡厅，想学烘焙、做蛋糕，想到处流浪，四处旅行看看外边的世界...... 可是看看自己，现在正走着另一条不同的路。为什么？因为这似乎是风影应该要走的路，身旁的人对自己是有期望的，风影不能任性，也不想辜负了家人。是啊，风影宁愿辜负自己，也不想辜负他人，因为看着家人对自己感到失望的这种压力，风影着实承受不起。

凡事要往好的方面想，日子才不会难过。风影还是可以追求自己想要的，未来充满着种种可能性，这条路，风影会走下去的，直到自己有能力去追求梦想的那一天。

风影要昂头，展翅，飞向天涯海角。
